Here are a few frames for a recent campaign I shot for the wonderful Cape Cove, a new and emerging fashion brand from the UK. The weather unfortunately in Cornwall wasn’t playing ball, and with the deadline for the launch looming, we made a last minute decision to fly to Ibiza and shoot the entire collection there. We sourced models and locations on arrival, and shot the campaign across two days in beautiful sunshine. Here are a few of the moments that made me happy. I also put together a short film for the landing page on their website, which consists of over three and a half thousand images stitched together in a stop motion format, showcasing their new collection.

Autumn fashion photoshoot for Bon Bon Fistral
M A T I L D A X B O N B O N
Mid January in Cornwall can be bleak so these wintry days mean I have to get creative inside. It’s great as I love opportunities to explore new ways of lighting and shooting.
Matilda and I teamed up for a morning to shoot new arrivals and all things pretty for Bon Bon - a fashion and homewares store at Fistral Beach, Newquay. I also captured some beautiful pieces from Joma Jewellery.
Soft light and tones
I used natural light from the window. It was a surprisingly sunny day so with the use of white sheets, I softened the light and shadows. I wanted to create something a little magical - soft tones complemented by intricate texture from the lace, hinted with a drop of luxury; golden and sun kissed.
Playing with colour
For the clothing, we used a plain wall as a back drop and a continuous off-camera lamp for extra lighting. I played with the colour palette and contrasts in post production, but remained authentic with the clothing colours. I wanted to create a more vintage editorial style, which I feel complements the outfits.

Searching for waves with Karine in the Algarve

During my 3-month road trip around Europe, I met this gorgeous soul in Portugal. Karine took me under her wing, showed me the best waves and cooked for me. She showed nothing but kindness and love and we shared some truly magical moments.
Here’s a little fashion and lifestyle shoot we did for Ottway the Label:

Fashion shoot with Nicole for Blink
I'm so happy to share this shoot with you all featuring Nicole for Blink Falmouth. When we woke up there was snow dusting the ground and frost on our windows, a new experience for us here in Newquay because we never get snow.
I set off to Falmouth to meet the lovely Nicole for our fashion/lifestyle shoot with Blink. The snow slowly turned to rain as we left the store and snuck down alleys and hid under trees as we began to shoot.
Sharing stories and getting to know my clients
We spent the first few hours sharing stories of our latest travels, boy troubles, and laughing about mischief we'd got up to. For me this is really important when I shoot. I like to get to know the models; capturing natural moments, moments of elation, joy, and feelings. Nicole danced her way down alleys as we laughed about silly things, unphased by the rain. She opened up her heart to me over coffee, and we exchanged experiences and advice.
Light in Cornwall - a photographer’s dream
Driving around Falmouth was nice for me. I've never really spent much time here and it really is beautiful. There's tropical plants, brightly coloured walls, and the beaches are incredible - so still and calm. It's different from the North coast and there's something about the light here too.
I've always said the light in Cornwall is amazing. It's so white, bright and clean and something that’s so hard to replicate - it's almost silver, ethereal. It's honestly a photographer’s dream!
Dolphin watching at Gylly Beach
We explored the streets and the parks, before ending up at Gylly Beach. There's a great cafe down there, Gylly Beach Cafe so we ordered a pot of tea and open fish finger sandwiches to warm us up. For the second half of our shoot, we picked one of our favourite skirts and played on the shoreline in the sand. Dolphins swam across the bay, and Nicole was so excited as she hadn't seen them before. It's truly magical there!
